Purelan by Medela is a 100% nipple ointment based on natural lanolin. It is a product that lubricates the skin and allows it to regenerate quickly and effectively 👌. The composition is completely safe and allows you not to wash off the product before feeding. However, as with Lansinoh, there are some drawbacks to the use of lanolin 🤔. The sticky and thick consistency makes the ointment difficult to spread on sore nipples. The price-to-quantity ratio of lanolin in the package is also unfavorable here, as the tube holds only 7g of the product. There are also larger packages available - 37g, but according to our testers, it is practically impossible 👎 to use the entire package before the expiration date - unless the packaging is to serve a larger number of people (e.g. in various types of facilities). Without a doubt, it is a quality product, but it will not become our ideal.

Lano-ointment by Ziaja is an ointment for nipples from the Mamma Mia line, designed for mothers 👩🏻. Similarly to the products from points 2 and 3 of our ranking, Lano-ointment is lanolin without additives. And also, like any lanolin, it leaves greasy stains 🤨. However, unlike Lansinoh and Medela products, Ziaja's nipple ointment does not contain such well-purified lanolin, which gives the cosmetic a specific, although natural, fragrance. However, this translates into its price, which is very affordable. The testers confirmed the effectiveness of the ointment, which regenerates damaged epidermis and creates an oily protective layer. They also pointed out that the ointment is thick and sticky, making it quite difficult to spread (especially on damaged nipples) and can be painful 😞. 15 ml of the efficient ointment is enclosed in a tube, but it is so hard and bulky that it is difficult to use the product to the end, which makes Ziaja not as economical a solution as it might seem at first glance.

Maltan is an ointment whose composition is based on products derived from petroleum. They are known for their properties supporting the regeneration of the epidermis, but nowadays they are often controversial 🤔. The cosmetic moisturizes and is easy to apply. Our testers have observed that the Maltan nipple ointment can clog the pores of thin skin on the breasts, and its use does not always bring the expected results. Some of our testers have pointed out that the nipple regeneration effect is not immediate. The product contains glucose, which, when applied to the damaged epidermis, can become a breeding ground for bacteria 👎. In our opinion, the Maltan wart ointment raises a lot of doubts for such a popular product.
