Ranking of moisturising masks 2024 | Ranking-consumer.co.uk

A moisturising mask is a cosmetic product that is designed to nourish the skin and provide it with moisture. It is one type of skincare mask that can be used as an additional step in a skincare routine or as an ad hoc solution for dehydrated or dry skin. A moisturising mask can be in the form of a cream, gel, sheet or fabric soaked in active ingredients. These ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, glycerine, ceramides, vitamins, plant extracts and other moisturisers, are designed to attract, hold and retain water in the skin, providing hydration and smoothing. Like any cosmetic product, a moisturising mask can be more or less effective. We've tested a number of them and have selected what we think are the top 5 moisturising mask picks of 2024. Check out our ranking and choose the option that best meets your expectations.

The Day Hooray Intensive Moisturising Face Mask delights with its almost all-natural composition 🌿. It contains aloe vera extract, which moisturises, soothes and calms. Spirulina nourishes the skin, protects it and helps it to regenerate 🤩. Combined with coconut oil, it strongly moisturises, leaving the skin velvety smooth. The mask is non-irritating and does not leave a greasy film 👌. Our testers were positively surprised that, despite the spirulina in the formulation, the product is free of the characteristic algae smell 😉 . The mask does not cause a tightening feeling on the skin and has a very pleasant texture 😍 that allows it to be spread evenly over the face. The cosmetic comes in a hygienic tube that allows you to use the product completely to the last drop . The cherry 🍒 on the cake is the affordable price of the cosmetic. The Day Hooray mask has undoubtedly earned its first place in our ranking.

Kiehls Avocado Nourishing Mask is a mask that, using avocado extract and oil 🥑 deeply moisturises, firms and smooths the skin. It's not just the mask's action that is linked to avocado, the scent and colour and even the texture is reminiscent of this fruit. Unfortunately, the formula, although quite pleasant to the touch, does not allow for a comfortable application of the cosmetic. Our testers noticed that the mask rolls onto the skin and sometimes even crumbles 🤨. In fact, the effect of both application and action is similar to the effect we can achieve by preparing ourselves a homemade avocado mask 🤔. Although it wouldn't work as quickly (the effects after applying the Kiehls mask are visible after just 15 minutes), it would certainly be a cheaper option. The Kiehls Avocado mask comes with a hefty price tag.

Benefits

  • firming and smoothing effect
  • avocado scent and colour

The AA Bubble Mask facial moisturiser is definitely worth looking out for 👌. The interesting formula can be spread over the face like a classic mask, only to turn into a sparkling foam after a while under the influence of oxygen and contact with the skin. Some testers described the adventure with this mask as a very interesting skincare experience 🥰. The treatment is made even more pleasant by the subtle scent of aloe vera and green tea. While the mask is moderately moisturising, it definitely refreshes the skin. The mask costs little, but only lasts for two applications, so looking objectively at the contents of the pack (2 x 4ml) it is not a very economical option for daily use 🤔. Unfortunately, the product has substances that can irritate and the moisturising effect is rather shallow and short-lived.

Benefits

AA, Bubble Mask, Hydration and freshness, moisturising mask

  • Refreshes and invigorates
  • spreads and washes off easily
  • interesting formula
  • pleasant fragrance

Disadvantages

AA, Bubble Mask, Hydration and freshness, moisturising mask

  • only two applications
  • apparent low price
  • shallow and short-lived hydration
  • may irritate

Make me Bio's Creamy Moisturising Face Mask is a beauty product that attracts with its natural 🌱 composition and... pretty packaging 👌. The dark glass jar with a minimalist label looks quite elegant, but it's not the most hygienic option, as bacteria gets into the jar every time you scoop the product (unless you use a disposable spatula, but that in turn is not good for the environment 😏). Some of our testers noted that moisturising is not the main purpose of the mask and the manufacturer has not very accurately described the product. The moisturising effect is rather weak, but the mask is good nonetheless. The high content of Dead Sea mud cleanses and nourishes the skin ✨. This action is reinforced by the oils, which are also not lacking in the composition. The mask is rather heavy and sometimes clogging can be observed in people who do not react very well to coconut oil.

Benefits

Make Me Bio, creamy moisturising face mask

  • rich, natural composition
  • high quality packaging
  • cleanses and nourishes the skin
  • gentle moisturising effect

Disadvantages

Make Me Bio, creamy moisturising face mask

  • unhygienic packaging
  • does not live up to the manufacturer's promises
  • poor moisturising effect
  • heavy texture
  • may clog

The Loreal hydrating sheet mask made it into our ranking for its moisturising effect 💦. The mask is effective, the sheet is of high quality and adheres well to the face. It contains hyaluronic acid, which hydrates and gently fills in shallow lines. In the opinion of our testers, this is a great option to use from time to time 😉 . In our opinion, the product should not be used too often as the mask is not biodegradable, the sheet is disposable and not recyclable. The mask divided our testers into two groups 👩🏻‍👩‍🔬 - most were delighted with its performance, while some observed a rash of pimples and facial irritation after using the mask. Its drawback is also the sticky film it leaves on the face. The suggestion is worth testing, but we could not place it higher in our ranking.

Benefits

L'Oréal Paris, Hyaluron Specialist Tissue Mask, Moisturising sheet mask

  • intensively moisturises
  • high quality sheet

Disadvantages

L'Oréal Paris, Hyaluron Specialist Tissue Mask, Moisturising sheet mask

  • leaves a sticky film on the skin
  • is not environmentally friendly
  • may irritate
  • may contribute to the formation of eczema
  • the product is disposable
